Why Are Some People So Good at Finding People Online?

Hey everyone,

i’ve been wondering about this for a while—especially after spending (probably too much) time on TikTok. Every now and then i come across videos where creators call out users who leave hate comments or post offensive stuff. What blows my mind is how these creators somehow manage to find the commenter’s full name, family details, workplace, school—sometimes even down to what they had for lunch.

Like… how?! Especially when the original account has no obvious info—just a nickname and some random profile picture.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but if it is, i’d love to understand how people go about doing this kind of deep-dive searching. Is it just really advanced Googling or something else?
