Hey everyone I’m getting a bunch of weird calls lately, and I’m trying to figure out who is behind them without having to drop a fortune of money on some services. I’ve tried a few “free” phone number lookup sites but they all either hit me with a paywall halfway through or just give super generic info like the area code and carrier.
so please is there any legit phone number lookup that is actually free and gives useful info like names or social profiles? Not expecting miracles but even a little help would be nice.

Honestly there’s no such thing as totally free and detailed lookup you either pay or get garbage results
Yep i ran into the same issue they all act free until it’s time to actually show the info
Have you tried entering the number into WhatsApp? if they have an account you’ll see a name
i totally get what you’re dealing with i had this one number call me like 12 times in 3 days and every time I tried to look it up it led to some sketchy site that wanted some dollars for full results I just want a name not a whole investigation report
I ended up downloading this app called Should I Answer and it’s been surprisingly good it doesn’t give names but it shows reviews other people leave about the number like This is a scam from a fake tech support company Helped me dodge a few nasty ones
Honestly i got so tired of it i just started answering and trolling them if it’s a robocall or scammer i waste their time until they hang up feels petty but kinda satisfying
Honestly i have just stopped answering any number i don’t recognize if it’s important they will leave a message i hate that it’s come to this but it saves me a lot of stress
It sucks that even the free tools are just bait feels like they are all trying to upsell you instead of genuinely helping people there should be more transparency.
I’ve heard some people use Google Voice or Burner apps just to keep their real number protected might be something to consider
The scariest part is when they use your own area code it almost tricked me into answering because i thought it might be a local school or office
I wish the government would crack down harder on this stuff it’s getting out of control and feels like no one is doing anything about it
I’ve noticed the spam calls usually come in waves i get 5 10 a day for a week then nothing for a while when i looked them up most were just area code carrier nothing useful i miss the days when caller actually meant something
I tried Social Catfish once but tbh it didn’t give me anything until i paid might have been worth it for a one time lookup but it was kinda annoying how it said free preview and then showed nothing
I paid for one of those lookup services once and they literally gave me a name i already knew my friend’s number i used as a test total scam won’t be doing that again
