Is BeenVerified legit or just another paywall trap?

Just trying to look up some basic info on an old friend i haven’t heard from in years just out of curiosity nothing sketchy while searching around i kept seeing BeenVerified pop up in the results so i figured to give it a try at first glance it looked pretty solid the layout was user friendly and it even gave me a little preview stuff like age range a potential location and a few name matches but as soon as i wanted to see anything more detailed it hit a paywall.

I don’t mind paying if the info is actually useful but i’m wondering is BeenVerified legit or is it one of those sites that hooks you in with vague previews and then underdelivers once you pay?

Has anyone here gotten solid, accurate info from it? Trying to figure out if it’s worth doing a short subscription or if i’m better off skipping it altogether

I used beenVerified before under similar circumstances just trying to reconnect with an old friend i did go ahead and pay for the subscription and honestly the info was a mixed bag some details were outdated like old addresses or phone numbers that didn’t work but i was able to confirm their last known location and a couple of relatives names which helped me track them down through Facebook i wouldn’t say it’s a scam but it’s definitely not foolproof

I had the exact same experience the preview makes it seem like you are this close to unlocking the info you need but once you pay you realize a lot of it is recycled or publicly available elsewhere i didn’t feel totally ripped off but i was underwhelmed i say it’s okay if you’re completely stuck and have no leads but if you have even a bit of info you’re probably better off digging through social media or public records first

Tried BeenVerified last year when i was trying to find an old coworker the interface was super smooth and it did return a good match but i quickly realized the majority of the data was stuff i could find myself the only slightly helpful bit was a previous address that wasn’t showing up in other searches

I used both BeenVerified and TruthFinder and they are kind of the same beast Tons of vague previews a clean layout and then boom paywall when i finally gave in and paid i got about 60% usable info some stuff was dead on like relatives and age but the phone numbers were mostly disconnected or outdated just be aware it’s hit or miss depending on how common the person’s name is

I subscribed for a month a while back mostly just because i was curious about someone from high school it did give me a lead i couldn’t find on google a married name that helped me find her on Instagram but most of the report was outdated i had say it’s worth doing if you’re totally at a loss but cancel right after unless you have more people to look up

Honestly it’s one of those services that looks way more helpful than it is i fell into the same trap hooked by the preview, thinking i was about to see something substantial once i paid it was like 20 pages of fluff and maybe 2 nuggets of real value if you’re okay paying a fortune for one or two breadcrumbs then go for it just don’t expect miracles

I was in your shoes not long ago trying to reconnect with an old college buddy i subscribed to BeenVerified and i say it was mildly useful i did get some confirmed info like their middle name and old email addresses but nothing groundbreaking if you go in expecting solid gold you’ll be disappointed but if you’re just curious and okay with paying to maybe find a clue it can work

I subscribed just for one weekend because i was helping a friend look up her estranged dad honestly it wasn’t terrible we got a few addresses that helped narrow things down and one phone number actually worked it’s not perfect but it was worth the short term sub in our case just make sure to cancel before they auto renew

You’re not alone i think everyone who’s tried these services has had a similar experience they’re super good at almost giving you what you want then you pay and the real info is either lacking or just not there i wouldn’t call it a scam exactly but it’s not exactly honest marketing either use it with caution

It really depends on what you’re looking for if you just want confirmation that someone is still in a certain city or state it’s probably good enough but if you’re hoping for phone numbers social media or current photos you’ll probably be disappointed i had only use it if you’re completely stuck

BeenVerified gave me mixed results i was trying to track down a former tenant who skipped town it gave me a couple of past addresses that helped narrow things down but no current phone or workplace info i ended up getting more from LinkedIn and Facebook in the end it’s okay as a starting point but definitely not the be all end all

I gave BeenVerified a shot a few months ago when i was trying to track down a distant cousin for a family reunion i had very little to go off just a name and an old city and the preview made it seem like it had solid leads after paying i found that most of the info was outdated and there were tons of possible relatives that weren’t actually connected it helped a little but i felt kind of misled by the preview

I used it when i was helping a friend locate her biological dad it turn up a potential address and a list of relatives but none of the phone numbers worked we ended up using that info to search through public court records and social media instead BeenVerified gave us a direction but not the full story i think it’s only helpful if you’re willing to do additional digging on your own
